Grade/High School


Tishomingo County has a unified school district consisting of two high schools, one middle school, three elementary schools, and one career and technical school. All schools are rated high performing ("A" rated or "B" rated), with the district rated as an "A" in 2017-2018. The average ACT score of the district is 19.0. Students in grades 7 through 12 have 1:1 technology devices for individualized learning, and high school students have the opportunity to take college classes through Northeast Mississippi Community College as well as Advanced Placement courses. The graduation rate is 85%, and the district has over 95% of its students passing the Literacy Promotion test in third grade. Each campus offers extracurricular activities through athletics, clubs, and the fine arts. The Boys & Girls Club offers after school tutoring and educational programs and activities.

Higher Education
The state universities cooperate via the Mississippi Technology Extension Partnership, the industrial assessment centers, and the Mississippi Technology Institute to transfer cutting-edge technology to business and industry. Mississippi also offers specialized Centers for Advanced Manufacturing Technology and the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems. Mississippi universities posses one-fourth of all the supercomputers in the USA and the state ranks third nationally in computing capabilities.

Job training for the community is offered by Northeast Mississippi Community College which is located 30 minutes driving time in Booneville.
